Dear Avard, Caroline, Emma, Mary Margaret, and the rest of the Bishop family, I am so sorry for your loss. I will forever be grateful for the time Eve and I got to share with Sandy on the many Sunday mornings at Orchard Valley. I needed community after my mother died and I luckily found it on Sunday mornings at the 9 am service. I loved that the service was the one place that I could count on a multigenerational community. Sandy was a matriarch in the Bishop family and in the church family too. She was a strong role model who was very kind to me and Eve. For that I am thankful. Please accept our condolences. On behalf of my daughter and me, Meg Townsend

Please accept my belated condolences - I only learned today that Sandy had passed away. She was a dear friend of my late wife, Lorna, and I still recall today the shower Sandy organised for her after our engagement was anounced. That was so much like Sandy as I recall her - always thinking of her friends and always keeping in touch. Again, my condolences

Wonderful memories were made in having known her. She taught me many new skills in the times we spend together in the kitchen, in the warehouse sorting and packing tomatoes, canning fruit and even teaching me to enjoy smocking which everytime I make something I think of her. Great teacher in many areas of life. She will be missed and fondly remembered.

Aunty Sandy will forever be my grandmothers best friend (although she had lots of friends!).
I spent a lot of time with Grandmom when I was little, and those two taught me what sisterly camaraderie looked like - always overcoming obstacles, sharing little and big moments, and forever being a visit that must not be delayed, an integral part to Grandmom's routine. Grandmom always found the energy to go visit Aunty Sandy.
Sending much love from afar, as our community comes together to wrap around her family and celebrate the beautiful life that Sandy did live!

Our sincere condolences to Avard and all the family on the passing of your beloved Sandy.
We first met Sandy in 2010 when she instigated the publishing of the Ward family history. Little did we know at the time that it would become the five-volume set Beech Hill Roots. Sandy did not want the family stories to be lost, dedicating many hours of her life to see this project finished.
She was a smart, determined woman ahead of her time, always welcoming and willing to listen to suggestions and share her advice.
The community of fellow family historians has lost a leader. We hope someone in the family will follow in her shoes.
With sincere sympathy,
Dale and Ann Ward,
Brampton, Ontario.

I met Sandy at the Acadia Pool. She was an inspiration to those of us who frequented the Early Bird Swim. She came with her ABC list of exercises and enjoyed her time in the water. She became one of my favourite persons!
I do eat an apple most days, often from Noggins farm, and now when I bite into one, I will do so with fond memories of Sandy.
My sincere condolences to her large and close family. Her life was long and productive which will no doubt give you comfort in the days to come.

On behalf of the Doris Bishop family I would like to offer our condolences on Sandy's
passing.(Joanna and Murray, Carolene and Allen, Mac's son Murray and family).
She tutored me in math in high school and was my Girl Guide leader in Greenwich.
I well remember her coaching several of us on cold winter nights at Noggins Corner farm as we studied and observed to attain the Astronomy badge.
Mom enjoyed the hours spent with her and the members of the Bishop Family Association as they prepared the material for "Tangled Roots".
May she rest content knowing that she had the love and respect of family and friends alike.

An amazing lady, who is leaving us with her equally amazing legacy... her many interests, their business, but mostly her family. She was a strong light in her community, and her passing in no way diminishes that light. It was a privilege to know her. May you all find strength in each other, just as she always modelled; may you find enduring joy in your many shared memories. Sincere condolences for your loss.

Sandy was one of my favourite people on this earth. She and my mom were close friends since Acadia days when they played on the basketball team together. Some of my favourite stories are of adventures that Sandy embarked upon over the years. My mom and Avard shared and often celebrated their birthdays together, the 2 couples married the same week and celebrated their 50 anniversaries together at our place, after my mom passed away I would take Sandy cherry chocolates (her favourite) on her birthday and she always said she knew they they were from mom, and they both passed away the same date but 14 years apart. Knowing Sandy and Avard my entire life has been a privilege and a gift. My condolences to all of her family, who she adored so very much!

It was a privilege for me, a little Acadian peasant, to forge a friendship with this wonderful woman of New England Planter stock. I spent much time in the water with her at Avonport Beach, helped her add information to her genealogy data base and combed cemeteries for her to take photos of special tombstones. I enjoyed it all because the more time I spent with her, the more I learned about her. My deepest condolences to Avard and to the whole extended family. May she rest in peace.
