Gordon & I shared special times with Irene, over a cup of tea or a meal. Irene had a gift of hospitality and shared her warm home, friendship, and love over the years. We are very blessed to have known and loved her. May God comfort all her family, friends and neighbors. Irene was a precious loved one who will be dearly missed.
God bless, love Gordon & Rev. June Keddy

Liz, I will always remember your mom.
I loved sitting in the pew in front of her. She had a way of brighting up her surroundings.
You will surly miss her, but I’m certain you have many memories to give you comfort.
Sincerely,Mary58Jdh

It's been so long, that I didn't realize she was still with us. I met Earl and Irene many, many years ago as we were all friends with Dorothy and Ken Blenkhorn of Blomidon. I remember what a nice couple they were and, although I don't know if she had medical problems, but what a blessing it was to others that she could be with us this long.
My very deepest condolences to family and friends. May you cherish your wonderful memories.

Im thankful that my last visit with Irene was SO much like my first! My first afternoon spent with her was about three days after her 102 birthday and my (little did i know) last afternoon visit with her was the Sunday after her 103 & both times we had a bite of cake for dessert :) Prayers for you all as you adjust to this transition and loss. I remember Irene fondly. I know family and friends are a great comfort to Irene’s family. The Bible also gives us great comfort, like scriptures at Revelation 21:4 where it says under God’s Kingdom pain and suffering will be no more and especially death will be done away with. Much sympathy to all. Ruth (Wayne) Jess

Linda and I wish to extend our condolences to all of Irene's family and close friends.
No matter how old we get ,none of us want to die. Ecclesiastes chapter 3 and verse 11 states that God put eternity in our heart because He wanted us to live a long life on earth to understand and view His wonderful creation. I have lost several loved one in the past couple of years and miss them everyday. However I take great comfort from Jesus' words found at John chapter 5 verses 28 and 29 where he stated that our loved ones would live again. He demonstrated this when he resurrected several individuals back to life. Lazarus his close friend was one of them and Jesus brought him back to life and reunited him with his family right here on earth. John chapter 11 describes this event for us in great detail. Thinking of you all at this time of your lost, Blair and Linda Jess

Gram will be forever missed and always in my heart.
I remember the times I spent eating all the baked goods she had in the kitchen, along with all our family dinners, to playing outside on hay bales in the yard while she watched from the window and the times we would laugh as I got frustrated with the silly little blue cube puzzle she had in our toy drawer.
I will remember and treasure our memories together forever

Irene was kind, sweet and had a wonderful sense of humour. I don’t remember ever chatting with her that she didn’t make me laugh. She had s beautiful laugh. Irene was so fortunate to have Liz to take care of her until the end. Something Liz should be extremely proud of putting her Mama first. Sending hugs to you Liz and our deepest condolences. To live to 103, that is remarkable. RIP ❤️

Q: What will you never forget about Irene?
A: I will never forget Aunt Irene. She was one good Sunday School teacher. She was always prepared and had each student in her class participate by reading the lesson and then we would discuss. After the discussion we did a small craft to represent the lesson that was taught that day. She took great pride in teaching children in Sunday School. Irene always had a great happy smile on her face and she enjoyed all the children in her class. Irene was a fabulous cook and made yummy pies, especially the lemon pie. My mom always talked about how good Irene’s raisin pie was, the best. Irene would attend square dances at the community hall in Scots Bay where her husband Earl would play guitar along with his brother Glen. Since Earl was playing the music, Irene square danced with her brother Edgar or a cousin or nephew. There was always a dance partner for Irene. She always enjoyed swinging to the “wildwood flower.” You will be missed ,Irene. May your spirit rest in peace.
