Robert Moore posted a condolence

It was in 2011 when a neighbour suggested that a group of us form a committee to work towards having a reunion of people who had once attended the old Deep Brook two-room school. Gladys, a member of the committee, jumped in to the work and contributed great energy in all the planning, the information gathering and the communication that went into the project. It resulted in a Deep Brook School reunion held in 2012. It’s difficult to imagine all the generations of kids that passed through the old school—Gladys was one of those kids. And one of the Harvey’s—four, I believe--who were well represented at that reunion. Her enthusiasm and willingness to take on the various activities surrounding the planning for the reunion was an inspiration to the rest of us. And it helped feed our energy in sticking with the project when discouragement appeared over the hill, or around the corner. Her contributions were then and still are very much appreciated. I wish my condolences to her children and grandchildren and to those of the remaining Harveys—a force to be reckoned with. We will miss her good nature, energy and her enthusiasm.

As sweetly said by Caleb (age 5) in the days following your passing, “I wish there was a way to call heaven. Or a window that we could wave through. I’d really like to say hi to Nanny GG.”
You were a remarkable grandmother and great-grandmother, always there to encourage us and never missing an occasion to wish us well. Nanny (aka Nanny GG), you will be missed but we know you’ll be watching over us, waving to us through that window. In the words of Charley Pride, I hope you flew away ‘to a land where joy shall never end’.
As we used to say, take care of Nan for me and I’ll take care of Ali for you.
With all of our love,
Ali, Mich, Caleb and Connor

I will remember Nanny as someone who was so patient, kind, and always wanting to be surrounded by family.
She has taught me so many things, from dinner table etiquette to how to swing a golf club. She was always willing to help with last-minute school assignments and test studying.
I was lucky enough to have spent so much wonderful time with her growing up, especially the days at Sandy Bottom Lake. We experienced so many special and happy memories.
I was extremely lucky to have her as my Nan and will be sure to tell my kids how exceptional she really was.
Love and remember you always,
Kyle xox

I have a very distinct memory of Mrs. Fraser from my primary year at Clementsvale Consolidated School. I had an argument with a fellow student and had resorted to biting the student on the arm. I clearly remember Mrs. Fraser coming out of her classroom and disciplining me. At 5 years old, I viewed this teacher as being so huge, strong, and authoritative. Fast forward 13 years and I was attending my first opportunity to vote in a federal election. As I walked into the Upoer Clements Community Hall, my information was processed by an older woman who was gentle and so small in stature. As she handed me my driver license, the woman said, "I hope you aren't still a biter." I then realized that this woman I was face-to-face was Mrs. Fraser!
I am so sorry for your loss, Dolores and Bria. Your mother/grandmother was a wonderful woman and teacher. I wish I had of made a better first impression on her as a 5-year old. I hope you find comfort in your countless memories of her over the coming days.
Much love,
Elizabeth

From teaching me cursive, to how to bake the best banana bread, Nan brought patience and love to everything she did. I'll always remember her tailoring the impossible red velvet dress that David Wilson found for me in middle school and discussions about why our bread sometimes didn't rise properly. I loved our games of crib and the times at the lake just talking outside in the sunshine. So many happy memories, I was truly lucky to have her as my Nan, I have exceptional shoes to fill as a future grandmother.
Love always, Sarah xox
