I was sad to hear that the" White Haired Ghost of the Maleega Lake Coast" passed away.
The memories are flowing, can you remember these:
How about the first time we went to the camp. Scott and I just started hanging out. So we arrive at the camp Scott and I go about our business and arrive home late.. Charlie is up early making coffee and starting breakfast. Charlie calls us to the table and places a huge plate of fried bacon/potatoes/eggs toast and smiling, as he watches me eat it. I scarf it down and two seconds later I asked for more. Charlie had taken it upon himself to fatten me up. He said to me.... that he could lose me behind a lamp pole and from that moment on Scott and I ate him out of house and home.
Charlie, Jean, mom and dad had a few memorable parties. I remember Scott and I coming home to my house and the party was in full swing. Donny Conrad was in the pool, people on the deck.So I stick my head out the patio door to say hi and close the door - turn around and the white haired streaker came from out of nowhere to find out the hard way that I had closed the patio door....... There we stood, silent and then he said his classic line "what's happening"........ Laughed all night!
How about the time when Scott got his own room down stairs......That was a big thing......... So I get the call - come over right away!!!. So I go running over, Charlie and Jean meet me at the door and cohurst me into a plan for Scott's birthday. They had gotten a phone for Scotts room and we hid the phone under Scotts bed and I was to call him at 5am. So I call at 5am and Scott goes running around the house picking up phones and finally finding the phone under his bed......Priceless........When I get over there Charlie and Jean are crying they are laughting so hard.
So Charlie's "What's happening" - where did that come from? I think I had something to do with that. As I remember, Jean was painting the front door black when I arrived........You know where this is going........ Picture this, Crystal was at the top of the stairs.....the carpet was orange......... Crystal comes running for me - hits the paint can and into the door...........runs up the stairs down the stairs and then out side. Jean and I stood there speechless looking at each other and then I said it " What's Happening " Jean and I laughed until we cried we couldn't move we were laughing so hard.
I will always remember Charlie laugh. Charlie will always be one of my foundation blocks. I am sorry that I am out of the country at this time but I offer my condolences.
Jean and Scott, Charlie will alway be in my heart and he will be missed.

Dear family,
So sorry to hear of Charlie's passing.
I remember Charlie as a very kind and considerate person.
He gave me a lot of support when I joined the Naval Engineering unit, for which I have always been thankful.
In retirement I remember him at his cottage and enjoying cruising with his boat, little doggy up front, on Ponhook Lake.
My heartfelt condolences.
