ILLSLEY, Harry Kenneth - 87, of Evergreen Home for Special Care, Kentville, formally of Aylesford, Kings Co., died at the Valley Regional Hospital on Saturday, June 18, 2011. Born in Coldbrook, he was the son of the late Harry S. Illsley and Laliah Alma (Thorpe) Illsley, Aylesford. Harry was a former employee of W. Paul Nichols Store for 23 years, Illsley & Nelson Ltd. for 20 years and an orderly at the Grand View Manor, Berwick, until retirement in 1989. He was a member of the Aylesford Baptist Church, the Aylesford and District Lions Club and retired from the Aylesford and District Fire Department after 45 years of service. Surviving is a daughter, Linda (Mrs. Gary Cameron) Halifax; grandchildren, Karen (Craig Bowes), Fall River, Bradley (Sara) Cameron, Alymer, Quebec; great-grandchildren, Carl and Nicholas Bowes; Logan and Brooklyn Cameron; brother, Howard Illsley of Aylesford. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Evelyn Alberta (Spicer) Illsley; sister, Mabel Woodworth of Aylesford, brothers, George of Aylesford and Earl of Liverpool. Visitation for Harry will take place from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Tuesday in the Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home, 192 Commercial St., Berwick, N.S., B0P 1E0, (902-538-9900). Funeral will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 22, in the Aylesford Baptist Church, 2543 Hwy # 1, Aylesford. Rev. Donald Rafuse and Rev. Clyde Lowe officiating with burial in Aylesford Union Cemetery. Family flowers only, donations in his memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or any charity of your choice.
