Obituary of Ryan Evan Bonang
BONANG RYAN EVAN “Lil Mass”
Age 30 born September 17, 1994, of West Porters Lake. It is with broken hearts we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Son, Brother, Uncle and Friend. Ryan left this world on January 2, 2025. Leaving behind his loving family and friends.
Ryan was a talented individual and had the ability to learn quick, he worked in various places throughout the years his first employment was with family friend Mark Skinner at cutting edge forestry. Ryan then moved along into working for Chris Janes at Quiet Creek Running heavy machinery among other various work. Ryan’s love for the water began at a young age working alongside his father and cousin’s Lloyd & Kenny Robicheau as a Lobster/ Herring fisherman. And most recently for longtime family friend Jeffery Cox, at Cox’s Auto Clinic as a mechanic.
Ryan loved the water; you could find him happily on the back of a fishing boat or at the family cottage on porter’s lake which was his home away from home. Ryan will be best remembered for his larger-than-life personality and his willingness to always lend a hand.
He is survived by his Mother Barbara Killen, Father Ronald Bonang, Sister Ashley Bonang, Nephew Emerson and Niece Maci, along with many aunts, uncles and cousins and his special Aunt/Godmother Jean (Bonang) Nieforth and Paternal Grandmother Catherine Poirier. Ryan is Predeceased by Maternal Grandparents Ross & Margaret Killen of Elderbank. Paternal Grandparents Jack & Dorothy Bonang of West Chezzetcook and Uncles Leslie (Les) Nieforth, Percy Bonang, Gordie Bonang and Douglas Killen.
Cremation has taken place. For those who wish to attend, a funeral service will be held at 11 am, Saturday January 11, 2025, at Saint Genevieve Church in East Chezzetcook, (723 East Chezzetcook Road). With Deacon Howard Oehmen officiating. Burial to follow at the St Anselm’s cemetery in West Chezzetcook. With a reception being held at the Head Chezzetcook firehall (station 23), 5543 Trunk 7, Head of Chezzetcook.
An incredible young man gone far too soon. Donations in Ryan’s Memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetic Association. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS, B4R 1B9 (902-679-2822).
