Obituary of Daniel Hector Lowe
Daniel “Danny” Dan” Hector Lowe, 67 of Dartmouth passed away peacefully on November 11, 2024, at home with his family by his side. Born on December 30, 1956 he was the son of the late Hector and Dorothy (Dot Fleet) Lowe.
In addition to his parents, Danny was predeceased by brother in laws, Robert Castle, Phillip Fleet and Barry Sharpe, and nephew Shawn.
Danny is survived by sisters, Brenda (Merle) Carver, Verna (Jack) Stewart, Cheryl (Barry) Sharpe, Carol (Robert) Castle and her partner John Guildford, Darla (Phillip) Fleet, his unofficially adopted son, Cody Fleet, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Danny lived his early years in Moser River but lived most of his adult years in Dartmouth. After finishing school, Danny went to work for a road construction company operating heavy equipment, although most of his life he worked as a relief lighthouse keeper on many different islands around the province. He also worked at the Canadian Coast Guard Base until he retired. After retirement, for a few years he would spend half the year at his home in Florida where he would bask in the sun and met his special friends Patti and Sue. Happy Times!
Danny was very compassionate, caring and a giving person, but never a push over and could hold his own if need be. He had a quick smile and loved to play jokes, especially on his sisters.
“Danny will be remembered and sadly missed by his family and many friends.”
Cremation has already taken place and by Danny’s request there will be no visitation or service. A private family burial will take place at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS, B4R 1B9 (902-679-2822).
