Obituary of Morley Edward Bezanson
It is with profound sadness we announce Morley Edward Bezanson, 89 of Fraxville, NS passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 26, 2024, in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born November 28, 1934, Morley was the son of the late William Austin (1891-1972) and May Olive (Barkhouse 1889-1985) Bezanson.
“Our loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother.”
Morley was married to Jeannine Alice Keddy for 61 years and together they raised three children. They shared a tremendous love for each other and worked happily side by side and were always together. Morley built two homes for his family including the one he lived in until his passing.
Growing up in a large family, he showed resourcefulness at an early age as he and his brother, Merlin made their own toy cars and trucks which made others quite envious. Morley’s philosophy in life was that if someone else can do it, so could he. He was a self-taught carpenter, electrician, auto-body repair person, forester and farmer. He enjoyed working and the sense of accomplishment. Morley served on the Board of Directors for the Forties Community Centre for the past sixteen years, volunteering for many different positions. Morley supported Jeannine in all her varied interests, and she likewise supported him in his. They never missed a Keddy or Bezanson family event and always arrived early. Morley loved playing cards with friends, family, neighbours and especially local card parties.
It deserves special mention that Morley and Jeannine loved the friends and relatives of the nearby community of East Dalhousie and many short drives ended visiting someone there.
Morley was also very skilled at making sauerkraut and was very happy to share with others. If you were lucky enough to receive some it would spoil you from eating any other. He was a kind, giving and forgiving man and we will carry him in our hearts forever.
Morley is survived by his daughter, Linda (Tim) Spinney of Fraxville; sons, Nelson (Dot) Bezanson of Amherst and Gordon (Lisa) Bezanson of Everett, WA; sister, Betty Anderson; grandson, Wesley (Christine) Bezanson of Amherst and Gregory Bezanson of Charlottetown; granddaughter, Melanie Murphy of Yarmouth; great grandsons, Kaiden and Ryder; and great granddaughter, Clara.
In addition to his parents, Morley was predeceased by his beloved wife, Jeannine (Keddy) and siblings, Maurice (Bertha), Leona (Benny) Bennett; Ida (Minard) Hiltz; Donald (Maxine); Merlin (Gwen), and Allister (Helen).
Morley will be greatly missed by all.
