Obituary of Marcia Lillian Newman
Marcia Lillian Newman of Whale Cove, Nova Scotia passed away peacefully on September 19th, 2024, at MacLeod Nursing Home in Annapolis Royal. Born in Whale Cove, she was the daughter of Kempt and Laura (Clifford) Tidd.
Over Marcia’s lifetime she worked in various jobs and gained a lot of life experience. Fish plant labourer, bank teller, hairdresser, and cook/chef are just a few of the titles she held. But what she will most be remembered for is her delicious food. Sadly, her recipes go with her as her measurements were all kept in her head. She took great joy in making sure that anyone who visited her home never left feeling hungry. She was happiest when surrounded by grandchildren or sitting in the sunshine in her yard in Whale Cove. The grandkids will miss her wild stories and big hugs.
Marcia is survived by her sons David (Kay) - Ottawa, Stephen (Paula) - Tiddville, and Brant - Grande Prairie; brother Rae (Theresa) - East Ferry; sister Ethel Holt - Bedford. Marcia will be greatly missed by her grandchildren: Joseph, Shealee, Ian, Max, and Sam.
Marcia was predeceased by her son Joseph, her brothers Horace and Joseph, and her sister Eva.
“Her goodbyes were always “Love you dearly”, so mom/gram, we love you dearly and miss you always.”
A burial service will be held at a later date at Little River Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest beside her son Joey. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, Digby County Funeral Chapel, 367 Highway #303, Conway, NS B0V 1A0 (902-245-2444).
