Obituary of Robert Arthur Morse
Robert Arthur Morse, age 90, passed peacefully on August 2nd, 2024, at home at Veterans Memorial Hospital. Born in Kentville on January 20, 1934 to Lorimer and Mary (Griffin) Morse, Bob spent his teens as an army cadet and went on to have a long and fulfilling career in the federal public service. In his retirement, he enjoyed traveling throughout North America by truck and trailer. He spent his winter months sailing the Caribbean Islands on his prized sailboat, eventually settling down in Dartmouth. He spent many mornings drinking coffee with his buddies at Robin's and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and cruising on his motorcycle.
Bob is survived by brother Jim Morse and family, sons David (Patsy) Morse, Alan (Judy) Morse, and Arthur (Mary) Morse, daughter Tina Morse, grandchildren Adam (Jenna) Findley, Geena Morse, Jacob Morse, Emma Morse, and Jeffrey Morse, great-grandchildren Skye Findley and Willow Findley. He is predeceased by his better half, Wilma Rand (Morse), eldest son Lorimer Morse, and grandson Jordan Morse.
A special thanks to the caregivers at Veterans Memorial Hospital unit 6 West for their compassion and care, and to his close friend Tony who always gave Bob sage advice and guidance through declining years.
He will be interred with his lifelong companion, Wilma, at Holy Cross Cemetery, Kentville, NS. A graveside service will be held Thursday, August 15th, 2024 at 10:00am officiated by Father John MacPherson. An opportunity will be offered graveside to share thoughts and memories and we encourage you to share. Memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Nova Scotia or to Veterans Memorial Hospital.
