Obituary of Aileen Elaine Fortune
FORTUNE, Aileen Elaine age 75 of Minasville, NS. It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Aileen on June 22, 2024, at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro surrounded by her family. She was born on March 31, 1949, in Noel Road, daughter to the late Prescott and Edith (Singer) White.
Aileen was employed for 30 years with Maritime Medical where she retired. She was a member of the Noel Ladies Aux, Minasville Community Hall, Moosebrook Chapel as well as a 4-H leader in her early years. Aileen loved her weekend road trips to the valley, listening to Willies Roadhouse, yard sales, baking, crafts, phone chats with Roma and of course her tea and doughnuts. In her later retirement years, she loved running a St. Bernard doggy daycare for the Hamilton’s’. A sure-fire way to get Aileen’s’ heart to beam was to mention Brooke, Brittani or Blake who were her pride and joy.
Aileen is survived by her husband of 51 years John, her daughter Rhonda (Mike) Fort McMurray AB. She is also survived by her sister Madeline, brother Jack (Mary) , brother in laws Bruce and Whiz along with many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents Aileen was predeceased by her brothers Wilfred, Max, Perry, Earlin; and sisters Ethel, Adreu, Isabelle, Betty, Iris and Arlene (twin)
She will be greatly missed by Brooke, Brittani, Blake who were like her grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place and respecting Aileen’s wishes there will be no visitation and a private graveside service. Reception to take place at the Minasville Community Hall at on Friday June 28 at 2:00. Family Flowers only.
