So sorry to hear of Joan's passing, it came as a shock, I've enjoyed her company and conversations over many years, her knowledge of places I was going and where I wanted to go. I'll miss telling her what birds I've seen and what's blooming in the garden and I have many different bees wax candles she has given me over the years. She will be missed and big hugs to John and her whole family ❤.

Although we have been next door neighbours for only a short time, a definite friendship has developed between our families. Lyn and Joan loved to share their love of flowers and spent time adoring and commenting on each other's gardens. Sending condolences and to John and family.

My deepest condolences to John, and to the family (children and grandchildren) in the tragic loss of Joan. A slight consolation, if such a thing is possible in her sudden parting, is that she won't have to suffer any further ravages of old age We had been best friends in childhood - she was four months younger than I, and we had both "come from away" to Wolfville at the same age, and, until her family moved to Montreal when we were fifteen, were inseparable. Although our lives took distant paths, we kept in contact - and both returned to our Nova Scotian roots, even though these were not where we started out our lives.. I appreciated greatly her sense of humour, and our mutual following of Eckhart Tolle - I can't remember which if us introduced the other to his teachings. Since a couple of days after her birthday this year, and my last contact with her, I have been ill, and haven't been out in public for over four months, and hadn't kept up contact, with nothing positive to relay. While I would love to be able to get together with you all tomorrow, to pay tribute to Joan, I am afraid I just can't. I still can't fathom that she is no longer here - as I am sure you must feel, too, with ever greater force and disbelief. She was a wonderful human being. My older sister Helen joins me in these condolences
