Obituary of Brian Harold Lutz

Brian Harold Lutz, age 56, passed away, unexpectedly, on Sunday, March 17, 2024, at his home in Black Rock, Kings County.  He was born on January 15, 1968, to the late Harold and Dorothy (Saunders) Lutz in Marlborough, Massachusetts. 

The youngest of three, Brian grew up with his two sisters in Marlborough and then Hopkinton Massachusetts.  Graduating from Keefe Regional Technical School in Framingham, Massachusetts in 1986 and Mass Bay Community College in 1996.  Brian was a talented carpenter as was his maternal grandfather, Harry Saunders. 

Brian became a Nova Scotia resident in 2011 after working as a carpenter for many years in Massachusetts and Maine.  He enjoyed his time fishing and reconnecting with his friends and family.  He worked for 11 years as a carpenter for Roscoe Construction. 

Brian is survived by his sister, Barbara (Carl) Harris; niece, Nichole (Kyle) Perreault; and two beautiful great nieces, Leah and Julia of Effingham, New Hampshire; along with nephews, Matthew Mespelli of Hudson, Massachusetts and Collin Mespelli of Brighton, Massachusetts. 

In addition to his parents, Brian was predeceased by his sister, Susan Mespelli; niece, Heather Lynne Siebert; and nephew, Carl “CJ” Harris.

A Service will be held on Monday, March 25, 2024, at 2:00 pm in the Black Rock Baptist Church, with burial immediately following.  There will be a reception with family greeting friends and relatives at the Black Rock Community Hall.  Reverend John Hannem officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in Brian’s memory may be made to Black Rock Baptist Church, 1248 Russia Road, RR#3, Waterville, NS B0P 1V0. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS, B4R 1B9 (902-679-2822).
