It wasn't just her family that she enjoyed cooking for. She welcomed new neighbours to Maple Avenue with hot cross buns at Easter-time.

Aunt Helen was such a vibrant soul. My memories will always include her wonderfully loud laughter and big smile! We will cherish those memories of those years and think that she is now Singing some great hymns with my Dad and her other Siblings that have all gone on before her. The last of a great Family of Ernest ( my middle name) and Olive. Rest in peace Helen ❤️

I have very fond memories of Aunt Helen. As a young girl, I would often walk up the road to visit Aunt Beulah and Uncle Paul. There I would find Aunt Beulah and Aunt Helen hovering around the kitchen table, placing a dress pattern on the chosen material. It was placed just perfectly and they both seemed so satisfied with their workmanship and enjoyed each others company. It seems at times these sisters were inseparable.
I loved to hear Aunt Helen laugh. This I experienced first hand because dad would often tease Aunt Helen. She would reply back with teasing remarks as well followed by a loud, hearty laugh. And then everyone would see the love between them and their wide smiles.
Aunt Helen played piano - self taught, I believe and although I was not around so much, I knew that dad, Aunt Beulah, Uncle Paul, Uncle Carl, Uncle Arnold and Aunt Helen often attended many community sing songs and charity events. The love of music was evident in the Davidson family. And so I guess this DNA, creativity and love of music has been passed along to many siblings. I, for one, am thankful I am part of this legacy and will cherish the memories of the Davidson family. Helen is the last of the Ernest and Olive siblings to leave us. We will honour this family by cherishing their memories, sharing their stories, and using our talents to show love to others.

Dear Helen was a part of my growing up years. She was kind and patient and loving, not only with her own kids, but with those of us neighbour's kids too. She gave me my very first piano lessons Her family and mine often went on picnics together, went blueberry picking and had cornboils together.

Sheila and family. Your mom was one of the kindest women I have every met. She welcomed me with open arms when I tagged along with her best friend Kaye. The three of us had some good times during Kaye's summer visits, especially enjoyed our trips to Peggy's Cove. She always said she felt safe in my car because I seemed so comfortable behind the wheel. Little did she know that half the time we were out and about, I didn't have a clue how to get where we were going, but that only added to the adventures.I'm sure her and Kay and your Dad are catching up. She loved her family and loved to keep us up to date on their accomplishments. Hold on to your memories, they will keep her close.Carole and Steve

Aunt Helen was such a wonderful person and babysat my sister and I after school. I have so many great memories of Learning to play Crib, getting the eggs from barn, organizing salt and pepper shakers, watching her cook, and watching soaps. May she be at peace now with Uncle Maurice and she can play the piano for all to hear ….

My sisters Bonny and Sally and myself have many fond memories of Helen. She was our after-school babysitter until one of our parents, Frank and Ruth, would pick us up after their work day was finished. Bonny and Sally lived with the Lightfoot family from Monday to Friday and I played with David after school as well. She was a wonderful lady and we enjoyed our time with her.

The loss of Helen deeply saddens us. Her warm and caring nature touched the lives of many, especially during her tenure at Cochrane’s Pharmacy in Wolfville. Residing with my sister at the nursing home, it was always nice to hear her playing the piano. The memory of her benevolent spirit will live on through those who were privileged to know her.
