It is with heavy hearts that the family of Harriet Meade announce her passing on December 31,2023 with her loving family by her side. Harriet was born in Grey River, NL on December 12, 1932, to Robert and Mary-Ann (nee Young) Meade.
Harriet leaves behind to mourn her one remaining sister, Catherine Pelletier; 11 children, Anne (Bill) Parsons, Junior (Joan) Keeping, Naomi (Gord) Tucker, Dorim (Martine) Keeping, Maxine Keeping, Garry (Linda) Keeping, Wayne (Andrea) Keeping, Glenn (Pam) Keeping, Ramona Keeping, Brent (Lynn) Keeping, and Tanya (Will) Snodgrass. She will also be dearly missed by her grandchildren, Tracy, Cammy, Jason, Justin, Steven, Lindy, Kelly, Michael, Todd, Brandon, Sheldon, Mason, Evan, Robyn, Emily, Madsion, Samuel and predeceased by her grandson, Dorim, 17 great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
After raising her children and moving to North Sydney, Harriet returned to school in her later years to further her education, where she thrived. She was an avid walker who loved her darts and, most of all, her dances with her close friends. She loved her frequent visits with her family and grandchildren, whom she adored.
Harriet’s family would like to thank the staff at the Admiral Long Term Care Centre in Dartmouth, where she spent her final years. The care and love she received was like that of her own family and very much appreciated.
Cremation has taken place and there will be no services, by request. Harriet will be celebrated by her family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to alzheimer.ca or charity of your choice.
