Obituary of Shirley Yvonne Robicheau
Shirley Yvonne Robicheau, age 83 of Doucetteville, passed away on December 7, 2023, in the Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born in Digby, she was the daughter of the late Wilfred and Edna (Boudreau) Weir.
Shirley enjoyed being involved with the Senior Games, olympics, cards, and bingo; and especially loved spending Friday nights playing cards with her friends. When not participting in various games, she would delight in the visits from distant family during the summer and tending to her vegetable garden. Shirley would always look forward to hearing her grandson play music and sing. In her early years she would go hunting and fishing with her husband, Fred.
Shirley will be remembered by her husband of 63 years, Fred Robicheau of Doucetteville; son, Ward (Andrea) Robicheau of Doucetteville; grandson, Waylon Robicheau (Darla Hill) of Doucetteville; great-grandson, Bennett Haight of Hillgrove; sister, Patricia Robicheau of Oshawa, Ontario; and brother, Wilfed (Pam) Weir of New Brunswick.
In addition to her parents, Shirley was predeceased by her sisters, Juanita (Weir) Young, Linda (Weir) Gosson, and Dorothy Weir; and brother, Eugene Weir.
Cremation has taken place and in accordance with Shirley’s wishes, there will be no visitation or service. Interment will take place in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Doucetteville, at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, Digby County Funeral Chapel, 367 Highway #303, Digby, NS B0V 1A0 (902-245-2444).
