Obituary of Joyce Freeman

Joyce Sylvia Freeman (Amero), 79 years old, of Aylesford, Kings County, passed away on Monday, November 13, 2023, in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, with family by her side. She was the daughter of the late Scott and Christina (MacDonell) Amero.

Joyce was employed for many year at the Waterville Regional Rehabilitation Centre, as well as at NorthernTelecome,and the Old Skate Factory in Ontario.

Joyce will be remembered by her daughter, Audrey (James) Cochrane, Aylesford; son, Danny (Mary) England, Brampton, Ontario; grandchildren, Bradley (Mitch) Amero of Fredericton, New Brunswick; Sarah (Nick) Varner of Melvern Square; Jasmine Fredericks, Sasha Rockwell of Toronto, Ontario; and Jessie England (Gabriel), Hamilton, Ontario; twelve great-grandchildren; one great great-grandson; sisters, Irene of Brampton, Ontario; and Stella (Ron) of British Columbia; sister-in-law, Bonnie Amero; brothers, Allen (Phyllis) of Somerset; and Dean  (Gwen) of Waterville.

In addition to her parents, Joyce was predeceased by her husband, Carmen Freeman; brothers, Arnold Amero, Aubrey Amero, Donald Amero, and Sheldon Amero; sister, Doris Day; and great-grandson, Ayden Fredericks Durling.

The family are grateful  to  the staff of Medical Unit A  of the Valley Regional Hospital, and all the doctor’s that over seen her care while in the hospital. Thank you to everyone visited her while she was in the hospital. A special thank-you to Bonnie Amero, your gestures will not be forgotten. As well, thank-you to Serenity for your comfort and advise at this time of need.

Cremation has taken place, and as requested by Joyce, there will be no visitation or funeral service at this time. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  Memorial donations may be made to the chaity of choice.
