My most heartfelt sympathies to Jim and Rob and the rest of Alan's family. Alan was a true craftsman in every sense of the term. His ability to problem solve "on the spot" benefitted many.
I miss his morning visits to my office for coffee and a progress report. Our topics of conversation were many and varied. I was often subjected, rightfully so, to Alan's razor sharp wit.I really miss those visits!
Alan did a lot of work at my home as well. It was always done better than I thought possible.
Now, when I sit on my deck and no one else is around, I shed a quiet tear for him.
I said to him, "I want a deck you can lead a holstein cow across and the deck won't move." That's what he built.
Thank you Alan for the deck but mostly for the friendship.
