Obituary of Loyis Bertha Crocker

Loyis Bertha (Eagles) Crocker, age 72, formerly of Great Village, peacefully passed away with family by her side at Cedarstone Enhanced Care, Truro, on Sunday, October 1, 2023. Born in Londonderry, she was the daughter of the late Violet and Newton Eagles.

Loyis raised her children with love and devotion in Great Village alongside her husband of 53 years, Loyal Crocker. She was a dedicated and compassionate Continuing Care Assistant with VON Canada for many years; and a long-standing member and Past Vice-President of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 106, Debert. Loyis loved serving others, a fresh bouquet of flowers, animals, the colour pink, and Real Butter!

Loyis is remembered by children, David (Paula), Cassandra (Colin), and Lyle; was the proud Nanny to Ryan, Kayla, Hayden, Brooklyn, Jaiden, and Maxwell; and Great-Nanny to Caige, Brooklynn, Zoey, Austonn, Kholson, and Graysonn. She is also survived by brother, Calvin (Linda) Eagles; sister, Donna (Richard) Joseph; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Loyis was predeceased by her loving husband, Loyal Crocker; sister, Ethel; brother, Danny; and grandson, Jessie.

Life’s Journey Over, Job Well Done!

Cremation has taken place. There will be a Graveside Service for both Loyis and Loyal, in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Londonderry, on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at 2:00 pm with reception for family and friends to follow at 2:30 pm in Londonderry Hall, 4058 Mines Bass River Rd., Londonderry. Donations in Loyis‘s memory may be made to Hillcrest Cemetery, (Attention: Calvin Eagles, 14 Bonaventure Place, Debert, NS, B0M 1G0) or a charity of your choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS, B4R 1B9 (902-679-2822).
