Obituary of Charles Forman Day

Charles Foreman Day at the age of 72, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2023, in the Glen Hospital, Montreal, QC. Born in Wolfville, he was the son of the late Harris Day and Annie Spencer.

Charles was a hard worker and held many jobs over the years, from printing the labels on your shirt to working with concrete and being a warehouse manager. As a teenager, he had joined cadets and did very well. He viewed himself as a jack of all trades, master of none. 

From short sheeting a bed to tricking his father into staying an extra day with him, Charles had a great sense of humor. Once he told his Dad he couldn’t drive his big truck on a Sunday in Montreal because of some new by-law that had been past. Later that day they went to a flea market and Dad saw a truck on the highway, in that moment he realized he was tricked they shared some laughs and enjoyed the rest of their day together. 

Charles was always whistling a toon or making jokes and would help anyone at any time. He loved Looney Tunes and if you were not looking, he would make a funny face behind you just to make someone laugh. He loved the finer things in life, as long as the price was right. Always looking for treasures in yard sales, flea markets, swap meets, and second-hand shops. 

Charles is survived by Laura Tynes; son, Johnathan, of Gatineau, QC; daughter, Sophie, of Gatineau, QC; sisters, Darlene, of Campbellton, NB; Patricia, of Williams Lake, BC; Betty Lou, of Canning; and three grandchildren. 

In addition to his parents, Charles was predeceased by his son, Charles; brother, Carter; and sister, Lynn. 

“His laugh was contagious; his smile would light up any room. He will be missed very much.”

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, June 26, 2023 at 2:00 pm in the Serenity Funeral Home. Family Flowers only.
