Obituary of David Wayne Griffin
David Wayne Griffin, of Upper Canard, age 75, passed away peacefully at home on June 21, 2023, surrounded by his family. Born in Wolfville on February 22, 1948, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Jane (Shaw) Griffin.
For 45 years, David owned his own body shop repairing, painting, and selling vehicles. He enjoyed going out listening to music and dancing; especially, when his musician friends were performing.
David is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sandra; daughters, Theresa (Jarrod) and Tanya (Andy); brother, Richard (Carol); half-brothers, Darrell and Dale; half-sisters, Linda and Lorraine; grandchildren, Ember (Katie), Paxton, Mason (Sheay); step-grandchildren, Justin and Luca.
In addition to his parents, David was predeceased by his brothers, Laurie and Robert (in infancy); sisters, Kathleen, Eileen, Mary, Verna, and Ardythe.
As per his wishes, David’s body has been donated to Dalhousie University for their medical program, and there will be no visitation or funeral service. Friends and family are welcome to gather for a Celebration of Life on July 15, 2023, at 6:00 pm, in David’s home. Memorial donations may be made to the Ronald MacDonald House or The Lodge That Gives (1-888-939-3333).
