Obituary of Boyd Parker Webber
Boyd Parker Webber, 83 years young, of Middle Sackville, died peacefully May 30, 2023, in Halifax surrounded by his loving family.
Boyd was born in Upper Lakeville, on October 15, 1939. He was the son of the late Chester Alexander Parker and Eileen Mildred Webber (Webber).
Boyd and his wife Barb lived in Upper Lakeville the first 25-years of their marriage, where they raised four children.
Shortly after they moved to the Eastern Shore, he went to work for C.P. Young & Son in Musquodoboit Harbour, where he later became a Burner Technician. He continued doing Burner repair and installations for 40-years. He was one of the founding members of the Oyster Pond Fire Department. He was an active member in the Upper Lakeville St. James Anglican Church where he was a member of the Church Council and a Warden in the Church. He was one of the helpers to paint the inside of the Church with Rev. Tanswell.
Boyd’s career led him to leave Upper Lakeville and move to Middle Sackville in 1987. He found a home in the Sackville United Baptist Church where he was Baptized and an active member and also served as a trustee.
Boyd really enjoyed camping, 4-wheeling, working in the woods, his vegetable garden, traveling, Square Dancing, and woodworking. He really enjoyed making things out of wood for his family.
He is survived by his wife of 62-years, Barbara Christena (Maxwell) Webber of Upper Sackville. They had an amazing life together and were not only husband and wife, they were best friends. He is also survived by his children, Brenda (Greg) Forsyth, Kim (Brian) Steeves, Mark (Anna) Morris Webber, and Pam (Vernon) Webber; his eight grandchildren, Alex Webber, Christopher (Anh) Steeves, Kyle (Candice) Steeves, Joshua (Mandy) Powell, Matthew (Regan) Forsyth, Elisabeth Webber, Katie Powell, and Nick Webber; five great-grandchildren, Sophie Bergeron, Chloe Webber, Mason Steeves, Ronan Rhys, and Sophia Rhys; as well as several special nieces and nephews who he loved very much, too many to name.
Special thank you to Corrina who kept Boyd and Barb company for many years and brought them, gifts and treats.
Boyd was also predeceased by his only brother, Glen Webber, whose daughter came to live with Boyd and Barb at 10 years old.
Special thank you to all the nurses and staff at the VG ICU. You all helped Boyd’s transition to his life with the Lord. You not only took care of him, but you also helped Boyd’s family at this hard time. Also, a special thank you to Pastor Peter Metcalfe for his prayers and being with us at this difficult time.
A Funeral Service will be held at Sackville United Baptist Church on the Old Sackville Road, Middle Sackville, at 1 pm on Tuesday, June 6, 2023. The service will be officiated by Pastor Peter Metcalfe.
Poem of Life
Life is but a stopping place.
A pause in what’s to be
a resting place along the road to sweet eternity.
We all have different journeys,
different paths along the way.
We all were meant to learn some things
but never meant to stay.
Our destination
is a place far greater than we know.
For some, the journeys quicker,
for some the journeys slow.
And when the journey finally ends,
we’ll claim a great reward
and find an everlasting place,
together with the Lord.
