Obituary of Emily Margaret Pickford
Please share a memory of Emily to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Emily Margaret Pickford, age 45, of Wolfville, passed away May 16, 2023 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, lovingly surrounded by her family. Born on March 22, 1978, she was the daughter of Anna Anderson and George Pickford.
It’s hard to put into words the incredible spirit Emily was on this earth. Born with hydrocephalus, she faced many challenges throughout her life. Emily always had a bright smile and big contagious laugh regardless of what she was going through. She was outgoing, loved people, and enjoyed connecting with the Wolfville community and online hydrocephalus community, as well. She especially enjoyed helping her mom sell tofu at Wolfville Farmers Market and her dad sell vegetables at their Grand Prè road stand where she made a big impact on the community.
Emily was very curious, diligently researched her medical needs, and became a strong advocate for herself over the years. She was kind, genuine, and cared very much for the wonderful people in her world.
“We are all devastated that she has left us far too soon.”
Emily is survived by mother, Anna Anderson; father, George Pickford; brother, Colin Pickford (Roxanne Gingras); sister, Heather Pickford; aunt, Kay Anderson; uncle, Andy Anderson; cousins, Ashley, Andrew, Liam, and James; second cousins. Drew and Cody; extended family; fur nieces and nephews; and her precious cat, Dessie.
