My aunt Wilma was such a kind and loving woman. She is in my memories as an Auntie who was always patient, soft spoken and gentle with me.
I remember sitting beside her at her sewing machine trying to figure out how to “ease” a gathered sleeve into the arm hole of a dress pattern. This was never easy!! She would gently tell me to try again, take out my stitches and then try again and again and again … until I finally got it right. Never in a hurry, never losing patience with me, occasionally having to get up and stir a pot on the stove or throw something in the laundry while I got frustrated, but finally I DID it and did it right!! Life lesson: Paying close attention to detail is fundamental to finding success at work and in life. Thank you Aunt Wilma.
When I think back to days spent in your company I marvel how you did it all. You always looked so pretty. Hair done, make up perfect and a beautiful clean organized house …. with so many children! How did you do it all and make it look easy too.
I loved looking at your make up collection and trying it out too. When I was young girl my mom never wore make up, and my dad was never on board for that kind of thing either. So time with you was like a dream for me. Makeup and nail polish, wow I loved it. When I became a hair stylist you seemed so proud of me. Thank you for all the tutorials.
Aunt Wilma, I will miss knowing you share the same earthly home as me. I am sad and grieve with your children and family today. I hope all your descendants in all generations to come, know what a truly kind spirit and soul of a person you were when you lived among us. You and I share the changing of our denomination of faith and should end up in the same spiritual star dust someday. I will pray to see you again (maybe in heaven’s beauty salon) xo
