Obituary of Gilbert Edwin Miles, Sr.
The passing of Gilbert "Harry" Miles of Halifax occurred on Monday, December 13th, 2022 at the Veterans Hospital in Halifax. He was 93 years of age. Born in Fredericton, he was the son of the late Henry and Vera (Boddington) Miles.
He was predeceased by five brothers, Arthur, Joseph, Donald, Wiff and Ralph, and his wife Norma Miles (Amos).
Harry is survived by his three children, Barry (Cindy), Debra, and Gil; his brothers and sisters, Albert, Patricia, Peggy, George, Charles, and Jill; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Harry enjoyed his time in the Royal Canadian Navy, and then went on to run his own business as a trucking contractor for Nova Scotia Power. Harry then continued his career with Canada Post where he spent 17-years delivering parcels. He loved his job; they forced him to retire at 70. He enjoyed life, hunting, walking around Spryfield and helping his many long-time friends and neighbours. He took pride in keeping his home and yard looking great. He always told it like it is and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
