Obituary of Gordon Benjamin Campbell
Please share a memory of Gordon to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that the family of Gordon Benjamin Campbell “Ben” announce his passing on Friday November 18, 2022, in the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater, NS, surrounded by loved ones by his side. Born in St. John, NB, he was the son of Gordon and Lois (Bright) Campbell.
Ben was a kind soul, loved spending time with his family, chatting with anyone willing to strike up a conversation, especially sports related. A die-hard Red Wings Fan and Sports enthusiast, his proudest moments were watching his boys play baseball and hockey. He cherished his time with close friends from far and wide, to many to list. Digby, where he met the love of his life was his second home where many fond relationships were made over the years.
We will miss our loving, caring, patient, hardworking, dependable Husband, Father and Grampy. You will forever be in our hearts and your memory will live on through our conversations and in the love and respect you taught us to have for others.
Ben leaves behind his soulmate and best friend, Joan (Titus) Campbell; his children, Mike, Jamie (Tina), and Robbie (Rachelle); his grandchildren, Jacob, Brendan, Benji, Sophie, and Kaylee; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Ben was predeceased by his sister, Sharon (Campbell) Theriault; and his brothers, Jimmy and Ian Campbell.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will take place this summer in Digby Neck, NS. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Union Burial Grounds (in C/O David Russell, 85 Trout Cove Rd, Centreville, NS, B0V 1A0) or Digby Neck Fire Hall (RR1 Sandy Cove, NS, B0V 1E0).
