Obituary of Philip James Timothy Boylan
Philip “Tim” James Boylan of Kentville passed away on November 8, 2022, at the age of 66. Tim passed away peacefully in the wonderful care of the Valley Hospice after several months of declining health.
Tim was born September 4, 1956, to his father, Philip Harris Boylan and mother, Joyce Loretta Boylan (Comeau). Sadly, in 1959 at the young age of 3, Tim’s father suddenly passed away and his mother remarried his stepfather, Loring Clifford Ward, who cared for and loved him as his own. Years later, his mother unfortunately became ill of breast cancer and passed away peacefully on December 24, 1981. His young life was undoubtedly full of grief and hurdles, but from his strength and the guidance of so many of his aunts, uncles, and his stepfather, Tim learned to always make the best of a bad situation. That was just Tim; able to make you laugh on a bad day and would be there anytime you needed a helping hand. He will always be remembered and deeply missed by so many.
If you asked Tim what his greatest accomplishment in life was, he would without a doubt tell you it was being a father. The pride of his children would beam off his face any time he would talk about them. His enjoyment of being a father could not only be seen for his own children, but any of their friends would often feel more like family. He was the neighborhood dad and became a father figure for many over the years. Even in the later years, he became an avid video gamer just to keep up with his son and their friends. In addition to being a great dad, his other interests included good music, the Boston Red Sox, and his passion for cars, especially Jeeps and Mustangs.
Tim was predeceased by his parents Philip and Joyce Boylan, and stepfather Loring Ward.
He is survived by his daughter, Meghan (Dustin) Keizer; son, Mitchell (Regan) Boylan; grandchildren, Ella, Lila, Jude, and Hyde; his step-mother, Helen Ward; step-sisters, Sherry Benjamin and Michelle Kinsman; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and lifelong friends.
We, the family, wish to express our utmost gratitude for the loving care of the wonderful staff in the Valley Hospice.
