Obituary of Darren Troy Levy
DARREN TROY LEVY- 45 (JUNE 24, 1977 – OCTOBER 8, 2022) New Ross – Liverpool
Darren lived a life full of love and activities regardless of the challenges he faced. He loved the thrill of speed and excitement but also loved his quiet time in his room or outside listening to nature or his music. His wheelchair held his body but not his mind!
For the last 30 years, the fun-loving staff at both, Queen Street and Stonehill Group Homes, QASL Liverpool, made sure Darren experienced life to the fullest. Camping, walks, beaches, lazing in pools, duet cycling, sledge ice skating, riding a train, countless festivals and even getting to meet his favorite singer, Anne Murray were only a few of the things he experienced. When his bud, Troy, joined the Stonehill gang, they became fast friends and shared attending concerts, wrestling matches, and even watched beautiful “female dancers!” (His Mom always chided Troy that he was a “bad influence!”) Recently his long-time friend, Steven, became a housemate; very fitting as they were housemates in the beginning and Darren was overjoyed to the point of tears. Wayne was a constant buddy as well.
Darren’s health was a challenge at times, but he was a fighter and he rebounded several times. He defied the medical teams’ diagnosis over the years with the exception of Dr. Ernest who always said “It’s Darren, wait and see!” He always returned home.
However, Darren grew tired of the fight; his body could take no more and in a circle of love with his mom and two wonderful women from his QASL family, Tracy and Sandi, he left this world on October 8, 2022.
A special thank you to all his past care givers, Paramedics Danielle and Zaaron, Dr Harris and Nurse Cynthia (SSRH ER) and Father Keith Baird; truly wonderful, caring and professional people.
Darren is survived by his father, Arnold D. Levy, New Ross; mother, Susan Duncan (Andrew Ernst), Chester; brothers, Christopher Levy (Tina Rhyndress), Chester Basin; Patrick Duncan (Candace), Truro; step-sister, Jenna Creaser (Jonathan), Chester; step-brothers, Drew, Shea, and Coel Ernst, Chester; several aunts, (thanks Auntie Patti); uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins; and always loved, his extended family at QASL, especially Stonehill Group Home fellow roomies and staff, Liverpool.
Give your best to those who matter the most!
