GRAHAM, Carolyn Jean
Carolyn died at her home in Halifax on November 16th at the age of 58 years. She was the chosen daughter of Norman and Dorothy Graham. In addition to her parents, she is also survived by her 'little brother' Douglas (Wendy) and several cousins. She graduated from Queen Elizabeth High and then entered the school’s Business Education Course. She was at the top of her class and was particularly skilled in the use of computers. Carolyn then proceeded to apply her technical and administrative skills, first in the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience, Dalhousie University and, later in the QEll Health Sciences Centre. In particular, her professional manner, numerical skills and attention to detail were appreciated by the academic and medical staff she worked with. Carolyn was a great wit. Her friends may recall the time she called to inquire about the cost of renting a room in a well- known vacation spot. When told the price she quipped " I wanted to book it, not buy it." She enjoyed travelling and was available at a moment’s notice to travel with her family to Florida, Toronto, and Scotland or to visit relatives in New England. She was an excellent photographer. Later in life, she developed issues with her physical and mental health. Carolyn will be missed by her friends and family in Halifax and the South Shore, many of whom were aware of the struggles she had and attempted to help her overcome them. Special thanks to her friend, Viola, who tried in vain to help Carolyn during her most difficult times. At Carolyn's request, there will be no funeral; a private family service will be held at a later date. Donations in Carolyn's memory may be made to The Canadian Cancer Society.
