Obituary of Sylvia Joan Lent
Please share a memory of Sylvia to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Sylvia Joan Lent (April 30, 1942 – October 16, 2021) of Wolfville, passed away in the Valley Regional Hospital on October 16, 2021. Sylvia was born in Freeport, Long Island, and always considered “the Island” as her second home.
She enjoyed her life-long profession as a Chiropodist, providing care both in her private clinic, as well as in numerous facilities throughout the Valley and the greater area of South Western Nova Scotia. Long after her retirement Sylvia continued to provide these services to family and friends as an ongoing “labor of love”.
Sylvia was deeply committed to involvement in her community. She was a long-time volunteer of over 25-years at Fidelis House in Kentville, supported new immigrants to the Valley area in learning English as a second language, as well as remaining active on numerous boards and committees. She was an enthusiastic traveler who enjoyed meeting and developing lasting friendships with people she met all over the world. Her flare for fashion, sense of humor, and zest for life will be fondly remembered by those who knew her.
Sylvia did have a request that when remembering her at future events to celebrate her life, to make sure to include the song I Did it My Way.
Sylvia will be deeply missed by her daughters, Lyndse Prime (Walter Atwell); Lezley Prime; grandchildren; and the many who loved her and called her friend.
Sylvia's daughters would like to thank all who reached out with comfort, support, cards, prayer, and well wishes during this difficult time. It is appreciated more than you know.
Burial has taken place in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Tiverton. Memorial donations, in Sylvia’s memory, may be made to the Fidelis House, or The Islands Historical Society. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS, B4R 1B9 (902-679-2822).
