Thank you for allowing me to share my memories of my Grandfather.
To say that I am lucky to be one of his grandchildren is an understatement. It is a blessing that I am truly grateful for and will be for the rest of my life. It is a challenge to put into words the many things that I would like to say about my grandfather.
1996 my parents made the move across the country to start a life in Alberta. I never had the chance to grow up building my relationship with my grandfather.
Our bond was special and it will remain timeless in my memories, forever influencing who I am and how I show up in my life.
One memory I'd like to share would be Grading day, when we would bring our report cards home. I remember being so excited to show my poppy my Mark's and get paid for my A's.
poppy would tease and play by saying the money in his hand was for Lala, pretending to look for another little girl who could possibly be waiting for her grading day gift as well, when I would say I was lala he would say it was for Laura, all while alternating hands. Poppy had a great sense of humor and always seemed so cheerful.
Since then I've grown, but the name has remained with me, my family still enjoy referring to me as Lala.
It has become a source of so much love and joy in my life. I'm grateful for that everlasting memory.
Another memory I'd like to share that had a profound influence on my life would be the few times I walked up George street to St Augustine's Parish with my poppy. I'm not sure if he ever knew but that was the beginning of my own relationship with god. I grew up asking questions and talking to god through prayer daily. I really want to thank my poppy for exposing me to god and learning how to walk my path with faith.
I hold and cherish so many Memories that built character. Memories that shaped my future and Unconditional love that has inspired me my whole life.
I love you with all my heart poppy Mike. Thank you for all the love and joy you brought into my life.

Condolences to Michael’s family. I knew of the MacLean family through my father Michael J. MacIsaac. My grandmother Catherine MacNeil was Teresa’s sister married to Dan. My father Michael J. MacIsaac would be a 1st cousin to Michael. I recall my parents visiting the MacLeans & I recognize the familiar family names. I recall visiting Dan’s brother in Irish Vale & enjoyed the sheep he had at the time. I knew that Malcolm through another family member was interested in genealogy. I would have been closer in age to Josie’s children who I knew of only through school and church. Any way just wanted to reach out and recognize our connection in sympathy.
