I had the very fortunate opportunity of meeting Kenny and Rita back in 2000 when I moved into a new home in Coldbrook. Kenny was like a second father to me. He was dear, sweet, and would do anything for anybody. He had not a mean bone in his body. I adored both he and Rita and our friendship grew even stronger over the ensuing years with our daily walks around the village with our beloved dogs and other various activities. How I miss him.... What I will always admire and cherish about Kenny was his genuine love of life, his love and devotion for his wife, and all those who had the privilege of knowing him. Rest in peace, deal soul.....

Uncle Kenny (and Aunt Rita) gave me amazing memories. They were a comedic duo, one with the serious punch line and the other with the laughter that made us all laugh even if we didn't get the joke immediately. Sometimes they would trade places and one would set up the comedy and the other deliver. I always laughed until my jaws hurt when in their company. I was ecstatic to drive in the delivery truck with them. It didn't matter where we went, it was fun wherever.
I am glad to read that Tina Stewart also had the same problem with her 'pants' as I did with mine, in strawberry patches, front lawns or tomato fields and even once when I was chased around the kitchen table.
A kind, gentle man that will be missed. He was so obviously loved by us nieces (and nephews) other family and so many more people that knew him.
Praying for my Aunt Rita as she has to live without her "wing man", her best friend, husband and the gentle person who always wanted to protect her. Keep laughing even as your heartaches.
I know Uncle was met and welcomed by a crowd of smiling faces...

I am sad to hear of Kennys passing. I will always remember him as a kind and quiet man who liked to laugh. Who was steady, kind and dependable. When I think of Kenny I remember bowling with him on weekends in Hamilton when I was a teenager, When I think of Kenny I remember my father trusting Kenny to drive me hundreds of miles from Hamilton to Nova Scotia, on more trips than one.
When I think of Kenny ( and Rita) I think of a little black dog my kids called “cuddles” a puppy that came from the farm where Kenny lived. A little black dog that was a part of my life even before my babies were born.
For me, Kenny was always a part of “Kenny and Rita” Truly It was Aunt Rita and Uncle Kenny but for me it was , simply “Kenny and Rita.” When I think of Kenny, I think of the many times he would be there, a dependable, gracious man with a welcome smile to meet my mother when she visited her family.
Dottie had it right. The world has lost a good man. A quiet, gentle man, who could be counted on. My deepest condolences to my Aunt Rita and all those who knew my Uncle Kenny.

Uncle Ken was a favorite of mine, as we spent a lot of time with Ken & Rita when I was younger. I remember spending the night with them, and remember Uncle Ken getting up and having his Eggo waffles, every morning. I also recall, he really liked bread with molasses.
I’d love visiting when they lived beside the hen house, as soon as we’d arrive, my mom, Marguerite and my sister Susan, would head towards the house to visit with Rita, but I headed straight to the hen house to see my Uncle Ken.
One day while “helping” with the eggs, I got my thumb got caught somewhere it shouldn’t have been, and, long story short, Uncle Ken got me to the hospital,,,,,really really quickly, so I thank him for that. I often wonder if he then went back, pick my mom up off the floor (after fainting), and took her to the hospital?
He was always making me laugh, sometimes,,,,no, most of the time, he would tickle me until I pee’d my pants and he would always accomplish his mission! Not sure if I’d thank him for that, but it’s certainly a fond memory of him, and the times we spent together.
He was a wonderful person, and Uncle, who was loved and will be missed.
Until we meet again Uncle Ken xx-oo
