Obituary of Edward Joseph Brake

Edward Joseph Brake, 70, of New Ross, Lunenburg County, died on October 28, 2020 in Fisherman’s Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg.  Born in Marystown, Newfoundland, he was the son of the late Andrew Brake and Anna (Churchill).

For many years, Edward worked as a scallop fisherman, later, he worked in the woods. He loved four-wheeling and dealing in cars, trucks, and junk. 

His friends called him Eddy Joe from Pubnico.

He is survived by his partner of many years, Betty Hughes; daughters Anna (Elmer), Newfoundland; Amanda (Eddy), Ontario; Chrystal, Newfoundland; step-daughter Monica, United States; sister Sylvia (Ron), United States; brother Andy (Audrey), Lunenburg; step-sister Delores (Kim), Ontario; step-brother Ricki (Audra), Newfoundland; several grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Edward was predeceased by his brother James.

Cremation has taken place.  There will be no visitation or funeral.  Memorial donations may be made to Palliative Care, Victorian Order of Nurses or Fisherman`s Memorial Hospital, Medical Unit, Lunenburg.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home New Ross Funeral Chapel, 4935 Hwy #12, New Ross, B0J 2M0 (902-689-2961).
