Obituary of Victor Stuart Greencorn
Victor Stuart Greencorn, 71 of Little Dover passed away peacefully in Canso Seaside Manor on July 25, 2020. He was born and raised in Half Island Cove and was the son of the late Jean Greencorn.
Victor moved to Little Dover with his wife Sandra and their two sons in the late 70’s. He was a hard worker all his life having various jobs, including working in his younger years on the Lake Boats and then as a fish cutter in the Canso Fish Plant. Victor was also a member of St. Agnes Parish, Little Dover.
Victor raised his two sons teaching them the value of an education, respect and kindness to others, but above all.. Love. Through all of Victor and Sandra’s life struggles, their love for each other and their family carried them through the toughest of times. Having no sight for many years, Victor always maintained his strong will and he never faltered in finding the positive in every situation; his determination and strength, taught us to take nothing for granted in this life! Victor was dad or granddad for many of his nieces and nephews, and he loved them all dearly.
Victor will be lovingly remembered by his two sons Carson (Tara), Kentville; and Shawn (Kim) Pokiok, NB; grandchildren Laura, Dylan, Bryanna and Brayden; sister Vivian (Lawrence) Williams, Kentville; nieces Lisa, Krista, Lacey, Annette (Glen), and Victoria; nephews Paul (Marg), Skylar, Brandon, Chayne, Roy (Heather), Jonah and Luke; godchild Steven Myatt; sisters-in-law Beatrice Greencorn and Bella (Earl) Delorey; brothers-in-law Earl (Julie), Ralph (Mary), Kevin (Pam), Mel (Darlene), Harry Myatt and all their children.
Besides his mother, Victor was predeceased by his loving wife of 44 years, Sandra (Myatt) Greencorn; brothers Ronnie and Carson; brothers-in-laws; Kenny, Andy and Sister in law Doris.
The family would like to thank all the staff at Canso Seaside Manor for the excellent, care and compassion Victor received during his stay. We would also like to thank the Port Hawkesbury Nursing home, Dr. Luke Dobek and staff of Eastern Memorial Hospital.
A very special thank you to Victor’s eye doctor and friend for over 40 years, Dr. John Hamilton of St. Martha’s Hospital, and special thanks to all of Victor’s friends who have helped and supported him over the last number of years with appointments, especially Winslow and Beatie Horne for their frequent visits; Billy Myette for his daily visits with Victor while he was at home and a special thank you to Mary and Julie for taking care of Victor throughout.
A Graveside Service will take place Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at 4:00 pm in the St. Agnes Parish Cemetery, Little Dove. Family requests, in lieu flowers, memorial donations may be made to Eastern Memorial Hospital Foundation or Canso Seaside Manor.
