Obituary of Heather Lynn Penny-Mitton

Heather Lynn Penny-Mitton, 70 of Butler Lake, Parkdale, Lunenburg County, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, at home on Saturday, May 23, 2020 following a brief battle with cancer. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Maurice and Meta (Hillier) Casey.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, homemaker and friend. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her husband Laurice Mitton; daughter Kim Penny (Robert) Cassidy, Tantallon; sons Kevin Penny (Dee Osmond) Halifax; Chris (Emily) Penny, Hantsport; Ian Penny (Audra Hill), North Alton; step-son Andrew (Lisa) Mitton, Kentville; grandchildren Emma, Lawson, Vanessa, Presley, Ashton and Allie; brothers Brian Casey, Beaverbank; Gordon (Judy) Casey, Hammonds Plains; brother-in-law Bob Shute.

Besides her parents, Heather was predeceased by her sister Florence (Casey) Shute and sister-in-law Valerie Casey.

Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation by request. A Celebration of Heather’s Life will be held on October 2, 2020 at 1:00pm in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Lower Sackville. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Red Cross or the Lunenburg County Victorian Order of Nurses.
