Obituary of Arnold Kenneth Ogilvie

Arnold Kenneth Ogilvie, 88 of Burlington, went to his heavenly home on Friday, January 10, 2020 in the Valley Regional Hospital.  Born March 10, 1931, he was the son of the late Walter and Blanche (Lewis) Ogilvie.

He was an active member of the Burlington Baptist Church and held the position of Deacon for many years.  Arnold was also a long-time member of the Nova Scotia Fruit Growers Association and a well-known apple grower. He and Olive owned and operated Ogilvie Highland Farm in Burlington.

Arnold is survived by his loving wife, Olive and step-son Philip Loomer.

Besides his parents, Arnold was predeceased by brothers Lewis, Gordon, Cyril and Allison; sisters Vivian, Leona, Eyvonne, Elsie and Alda; and step-son Allen Loomer.

Cremation has taken place and by request, there will be no visitation. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at 1:30 pm in the Burlington Baptist Church with Pastor Christina Bigelow. Reception to follow service in the Burlington Community Hall. Burial in the Burlington Cemetery will take place in the spring for immediate family only. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Arnold’s memory may be made to the Burlington Baptist Church or the Berwick Food Bank.   Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, Berwick Funeral Chapel, 192 Commercial Street, Berwick, NS, B0P 1E0 (902-538-9900).
