Obituary of Laurie Keith Powers

Laurie Keith Powers, 92 of Berwick  passed away October 8, 2019 in the Valley Regional Hospital. Born in New Germany, he was the son of the late Willis and Della (Corkum) Powers.

Laurie spent most of his life in Berwick, where he worked for the Minas Basin until he retired.  He was a member of the Berwick United Church and was an Odd Fellow in the Berwick Lodge.

He is survived by his brother Linton (Evelyn) Powers, Berwick; sister Gloria Cunningham, Berwick. nephews Mark Powers, Michael Hulit, David Cunningham and Allan Cunningham; nieces Judy Powers-Mansfield, Sue Nixon, Cindy Crocker and Angel Martin.

Besides his parents; he was predeceased by wife Parnell Powers (Hiltz); sister Arlene Hulit and nephew Chris Powers.

A visitation will take place on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm in the Berwick Funeral Chapel. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, October 17, 2019 at 3:00 pm in the Berwick United Church followed by a reception in the Church Vestry. Memorial donations may be made to the Berwick United Church or a charity of one’s choice.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, Berwick Funeral Chapel, 192 Commercial Street, Berwick, NS, B0P 1E0 (902-538-9900).
