Obituary of Basil Nelson Dodge

Basil Nelson Dodge, 72 of Waterville, passed away September 29, 2019 in the Valley Regional Hospital. Born in New Ross, he was the son of the late James Walter and Ruth Laverne (Jollimore) Dodge.

He is survived by his loving wife Cecile (Laurendeau/Connolly); daughter Wanda (Trevor Long) Dodge of Black River; sons Murray Dodge and Tommy Dodge both of Waterville; step-daughters Michelle (Leslie) Brown of Dartmouth and Cassandra (Richard Farris) Campbell of Canning; brothers Roy Dodge of Berwick; Wray “Tom” (Carrie Veinotte) Dodge of New Ross; Archie (Jane Robar) Dodge of Rockland; sister Alma “Sally” (Murray) Dunham of Windermere; grandchildren Jessie-Lee (Noah) Lohnes, Alyssa Lynn Campbell, Michael Zwicker, Brett Long and Devon Long; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Basil is predeceased by step-son-in-law Vincent Campbell; brother in infancy, Charles Walter Dodge; sister-in-law Carolyn Dodge, granddaughter Katanna McDonald and his first wife, Norma (Reese) Dodge.

Cremation has taken place. By Basil’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Memorial donations may be made to the Diabetes Canada or charity of one’s choice.   Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS, B4P 1B9 (902-679-2822).
