Sheldon Allen Brown, 84 of Canning, passed away July 4, 2019 in the Valley Regional Hospital. Born in Canning, he was the son of the late Allen and Emma (MacCumber) Brown.

Sheldon was a 40-year member of Canning Volunteer Fire Dept.  He was also a member of the former Trinity United Church in Canning.

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Flora (Rafuse) Brown; daughter Kathy (Randy) Schofield; sons Austin (Charlene) Brown; William (Nancy) Brown; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters and one brother.

Besides his parents, Sheldon was predeceased by a brother, four sisters and one grandson.

Cremation has taken place and burial in the Hillaton Cemetery will take place at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Canning Volunteer Fire Dept.   Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS, B4P 1B9 (902-679-2822).
