Sending my deepest condolences to the entire Palmer family. Being an employee at the old store in Morristown, I was lucky to have spent time with John. Sometimes I would come in after hours to work on wood working projects in the basement of the store, and John would come over to see what I was building. We would chat about different things and he would often give me valuable wood working pointers. I truly miss those days. John will certainly be missed but not forgotten.

I remember visiting John at the old store in Morristown, one day we went down stairs to set up the machines to cut some moldings. John really loved working with wood. It was my pleasure to know and do business with this gentleman! Rest in peace my friend

I've never known a more true and humble gentleman who treated so many with respect. I remember so vividly him driving his truck to Burnside to pick up material and always having a joke or a witty remark to great a kid sitting at an order desk. And seeing him much later at annual HH golf tournaments was a real pleasure.
My sincere sympathies to John's family and friends.

Our sympathy to Winnie and John's family. He was a wonderful man who always had time to chat and spoke proudly of his family. Much of our house is built with materials and windows from John's Morristown store and it was a pleasure to do business with him at a time a young married couple was starting out. It was many years later I (Edie) came to discover John's family connection (second cousin to my father). We will miss John's presence at the Black Rock breakfasts. May he rest in peace.

I had the recent pleasure of speaking with John at the Bridgewater HH Grand Opening only weeks ago and I was surprised to learn that just days later John visited us in Annapolis.
It’s incredible to me that after all these years he was still as engaged and interested in the home improvement industry as he was. He was a true pioneer and has left a lasting legacy.
We wish to extend our sincerest condolences to the entire family.

Dear Winnie, I was so sorry to hear of John’s passing. He was a wonderful family and business man, surrounded by good people throughout his life. When you and John found love again after each losing the other parent of your children, it was an inspiration to everyone who visited or stopped and chatted with you. You were like two giddy teenagers on your shopping trips, at community suppers and breakfasts, or simply driving around town. You both made us smile. May he rest in peace as the memories of your fifteen-year journey fill your heart forever. And may all his family and stepfamily members be comforted by the caring and fond memories shared by so many at this sad time.

John was an amazing man. He had a sharp wit and dearly loved his family. He loved sharing stories of his life, the business and some of his antics. My life was better for having known him and his family. My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time. John was loved by his 3 daughters who made sure his days were lived to the fullest. A special thank you to his granddaughter Kim. I have never known anyone more dedicated to providing and supporting the richest life for a loved one as she did for John.
