In memory of a father, brother, husband, grandfather, great grandfather, best friend, and role model.
Mostly a person I admire and respect.
Someone willing to help anywhere, anytime.
He was quick with a smile and a joke.
Always giving.
To fashion ourselves in his footsteps will make things more positive in our surroundings.
Gone.....certainly not forgotten.
In our hearts forever.
God bless.....

I was saddened today to hear of Uncle Ernie's passing. I still remember the family gatherings at Nanny's, where Ernie would pass out the pop corn to us kids. Always with a huge smile on his face. Also, later in years when they came home with the camper where they did their entertaining. Our deepest sympathy to the family. Mark and Barb.

You were one of a kind Ernie. I could not have been more blessed than I was to have you as my step father. You role modeled daily what it meant to be an incredible human being. You came into our lives at just the right time, and showed me, by way of how you treated my mother, what love is really all about. Your heart was tender, full of love and compassion, and you gave that freely to those that needed it. There wasn't much you couldn't do, and everything you did was to perfection, and it was effortless, because that's just who you were. I love you dearly, and will treasure all the memories we made together as a family over the past 33 years. Thank you for stepping in, and stepping up to become the father I didn't know I needed. Rest in peace Ernie.
Love Always, your girl xoxo

You were the only Grampy I ever knew, and you lived up to it. I’ll never forget all the memories I have of you bouncing me on your knee, or the time you let me try a sip of your Brandy at the age of 9! But most of all I want to thank you for raising my Daddy to be the amazing man he is today. He looks up to you as I look up to him and I will always be greatful of that bond. Love you Grampy, Forever and always.

To An Incredible Man !
Our Alway's Loving Grampy! Words cannot express how deeply his Grandchildren and his Great Grand Children feel his loss. Immediately thoughts came to mind of our beloved Grampy alway's being there when we needed him most. Ex. Like when he came over to pacify his Grandson Cliff who was screaming while teething at 2 a.m. in the morning, so I could nurse his hungry sister. Or the time he helped me get Cliff to hospital with a broken leg, and so so much more.
Grampy moved back east from us, however he always took time to come back and visit even surprising Brittani on her Birthday once.
Last time we saw Grampy when he came to visit he even took time to get me to my Dr. Appointment.
We love you Grampy, I know your Grandkids made you proud.
Until we all meet again! We will Alway's carry you in our heart's.

Ernie leaves everyone he ever met with amazing memories of a gentle soul , a loyal friend and was always a cheerleader for all his friends. I will always be grateful that he was part of our lives these past 12 years and for all the wonderful adventures and great conversations over many, many cups of coffee and lots and lots of laughs. Fly on the wings of angels, Ernie and visit us often. You will rest forever in our hearts. Love, Jory, Sonny and Miss Bailey

We would both like to send our condolences to Uncle Ernie's family, as Ernie was a figure in our lives both in Ontario and since moving back to Nova Scotia for our retirement. We so admired him for his meticulous organization, a skill we often lack, particularly when it came to the yearly making of his renowned sauerkraut. Even in Nov. of 2018, he had our barn completely organized for the making of the most recent batch.
Forever a gentleman, Uncle Ernie had a wonderful wry smile which could illuminate a room, and he was always willing to share advice and offer a hand. He was also there at large family gatherings, gently slipping away when it seemed right. We were so glad to have visited him in hospital to share some of those smiles. We will miss him next November but we know he will be with us in spirit. There's only one way to make sauerkraut- Uncle Ernie's.
Love,
Anne Pollett and Morris Walker
