To the Reese Family
Fond memories of both your Dad and your Mom at their gorgeous gardens in Port George. Their lillies are still gracing the flower beds at the cottage my husband George (deceased Sept. 8, 2018) and I enjoyed for several years.
God Bless.

Our deepest sympathy to Chet’s family. Being a neighbor and acquaintance of both Chet and Dot, I can only express to you, the family, how much we loved seeing them working in the gardens and the pride they took when showing their hard work. Always helpful with questions asked about the different types of Lilly and the names of each specimen. They both welcomed strangers with kindness and love. God Bless.

My deepest condolences. Meeting Chester and Dot was something I shall always cherish. The biggest smiles and embracing chats were as wonderful as his Gardens. No place as peaceful as my memories spent there at Cottage Cove. Peace always came so easy when visiting Chester and Dot. Chester's baking skills were always a treat. Now, they are in God's Garden. You'll be for ever remembered and treasured as dear friends in my heart. May your presence never leave Cottage Cove.
God Bless as you are together now, never far from your
Wonderful and Blessed Family here on Earth.

To Debbie, Sherry, Wanda & family,
I am very saddened to learn of your dad's passing & share your sorrow. A kind & gentle soul with a great sense of humour & a talent for challenging Scrabble games, he loved family & was always willing to lend a hand & give an encouraging word. He & Dot were terrific neighbours all those years ago when we were growing up & our world is a sadder place without the two of them in it. I was happy to learn recently of the family link to the Lloyds via the McDows. Like Dot, Chester will be missed but they are together again, so there is joy. Thinking of you in the days ahead... love & hugs, Judy xo (Victoria BC)

Debbie and the rest of Chet's family. Your family continues to be in my thoughts and prayers. I have been blessed to have met several members of the family over the years. Chet was a man of great energy and ambition. No task was too great. Age seemed to defy him. Cottage Cove gave him a reason to rejoice in it's beauty. May God bring the family a sense of peace and comfort at this time.

My heart is saddened to hear of your father's passing and the loss you all must be feeling. I always was amazed at how he, and your mother, were always smiling and their wonderful laughter together. He is such a guiding light for all of you and the memories you have will help ease the pain of his passing, in time. Please know I am thinking of you all and hope to bring Dad to either the visitation or the funeral to say his goodbyes to his long-time friend. My condolences to all.

My sincere condolences on behalf of my father, Ken Crowell and our family. Chet and Dot were close friends of my parents, Ken & Avis and I had the opportunity on several occasions to visit the property in Cottage Cove and view the beautiful flowers, the fish pond and the Shore.
My mother passed away around the same time as Dot ( who was a wonderful woman). My father resides in an assisted living facility in Halifax.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Reese family at this time.

We had the pleasure of meeting Chet last summer while visiting Harriet Barkhouse. We admired his awesome lily pond, his beautiful flowers and enjoyed an uplifting afternoon in the summer sun. Chet was an inspiration. I am glad to have known him, although only slightly.........but he made a lasting impression on us, as he showed his happiness in life and beautiful creation. Love and courage being sent to his family.
