Obituary of Doreen Elizabeth Wessel Thistle

Doreen Elizabeth Wessel, age 92 of Dartmouth, passed away peacefully after a short illness, on January 31, 2019 in Dartmouth General Hospital with loving family at her side.

Born and raised in Saint John, N.B., she was the matriarch of our family for many years. Simply put, throughout her long-life Doreen was a loving sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to a large family, and also a great friend to many more.

She will be missed greatly by her three children and their spouses; her nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and the large extended family she loved so dearly.

Cremation has taken place, and as per her wishes, there will be no formal services. As Doreen said: "Just remember me as you knew me, that's enough!"  Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS, B4P 1B9 (902-679-2822).
