Obituary of Anne Bruce-MacNeil

In loving memory, we announce the sad loss of Anne Bruce-MacNeil, born on September 10, 1932 in Sydney, Cape Breton. Anne passed peacefully on Dec 26, 2018. She was the daughter of Georgina Costello and Hugh Bruce; wife of the late Norman Mac Neil and mother of the late Alison Anne Mac Neil.

She lived a full life with an exuberance for the culinary arts, a passion for works of art and a full career with the provincial government. She greatly enjoyed her time with her family and friends. She was a host family to many students studying in Halifax and shared her love of the city, the language and its cuisine.

Our family would like to extend our thanks to the staff of unit 8.4 at the Halifax Infirmary, QEII, for their compassion and care of our aunt and allowing her to pass with peaceful dignity.

There will be a Funeral Mass held at Saint Mother Teresa Catholic Parish Church 6032 Normandy Dr, Halifax, NS on Saturday January 5 at 11:00 am with a reception immediately following in the Hall located below the church. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS, B4P 1B9 (902-679-2822).
