Obituary of Alberta Mae Goodwin
It is with great sadness that the family of Alberta Mae Goodwin announce her passing on August 29, 2018 in Tideview Terrace. Born in Edson, AB, on April 6, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Clinton and Jessie (White) Harris. She resided in Digby and Sandy Cove most of her life and had made Tideview Terrace her home since March 2007.
She is survived by son Larry (Greta) Goodwin; daughters Johanne (Tuffy) Snell and Crystal (Desmond) Clark; grandsons Jamie Goodwin and Barry (Lisa) Goodwin; granddaughters Kimberly (Dave) Gorgenyi and Morgan Clark; eight great-grandchildren; extended family Gloria Babineau and Floyd Amero.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband Paul, daughter Virginia (Ginny) Goodwin, grandson Brent Goodwin, sister Virginia (Gigi) and husband James T. Boyle.
During her working career, she had an array of experience including CFB Cornwallis, National Sea, Mail Delivery with Mary Budd, Fundy Restaurant and a Municipal Councilor for twelve years.
Alberta was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She absolutely loved having company, be it family, friends or caregivers. She loved to talk and always had a good story to tell! She was also very fond of animals and enjoyed a few furry visitors. Alberta was feisty lady with a wry sense of humor and a quick wit. Her favorite treat was Tim Horton’s coffee and her daughter, Crystal, ensured she had her “Coffee Fix” daily.
“Our lives will be forever changed with the loss of our Mom. We are finding comfort knowing that her years of suffering with unimaginable pain has come to an end, and Dad and her are finally together again. The love and compassion that was given to Mom, Johanne and myself from our Tideview family was over whelming and will never be forgotten.”
You will be sadly missed, Alberta -- Rest in Peace
