Karen Margaret Igglesden (Raftus), 64 of Halifax passed away on August 3, 2018 in QEII Health Sciences Centre. Born in Halifax, She was the daughter of the late Gordon and Dorothy (Eckley) Raftus.
Karen was a very loving, caring and kind hearted person who enjoyed writing poetry, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. Kare was known for her candy store and being a practical joker.
She is survived by her daughters Tanya Igglesden (Zel) and Christine Igglesden (Dana) of Halifax; sisters Lynne Fawcett, Dartmouth; Gail Maire (Leo), Linwood; Virginia, Lis, Tina Raftus of Halifax; brother Joe Culleton (Diane), Sooke, BC; Gordon Raftus (Cathy), Lower Sackville; grandchildren Terell, Jamar, Tyree, Jayreese, Bevonte, Berez, Cianna Igglesden Trayzel, Tayliya, Tavia, Taniyah, Tanjaya Eshetu; numberous nieces and nephews; special friend Grailing (Jeff) Downey.
Predeceased by her brothers Ronnie and Robert Raftus.
In keeping with and respecting Karen's wishes there will be no visitation or service, a private celebration of life for family only. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS, B4P 1B9 (902-679-2822).
