Born in Conne on Fortune Bay in Newfoundland, Annie immigrated to Canada through Pier 21 and settled in Halifax. Here, she met Clyde, also from Fortune bay, her soul mate of 68 years. She also loved to knit and made countless preemie hats and finger puppets for the IWK and Valley Regional Hospital. She was a life member of the Rebekahs and St. Paul's United Church UCW. She is survived by her children Roy (Theresa); Frank; Don (Linda); Linda (David) Fanning; Clyde Jr. (Pam); eleven grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; stepbrothers Harry Johnson, St. Johns, Nfld; Fred Johnson, Deer Lake, Nfld; step sisters Sarah Bishop, North Sydney; Mary Brushett, Grand Bank, Nfld; Rhoda Hynes, Toronto, Ont. She was predeceased by her husband Clyde, parents Arthur and Jessie Childs (Hatch) and infant grandchild Tammy. Many thanks to the staff at the ICU and Med B for their excellent care, compassion and understanding during Annie's stay at Valley Regional. She thought of both her family doctor, Dr. Matheson, and Fran as being very special for the trusting and compassionate care they afforded her over the last decade or more. Crematon has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held on June 4, 2018 at 2:00 pm in the St. Paul's United Church in Spryfield with Rev. Anne Hoganson officiating. Family Flowers only.
