Leola Faith Hiltz, age 97 passed away in Harbour View Haven in Lunenburg on May 11, 2018. She was born December 9, 1920 to the late Rufus St. Clair and Emily Livian (Legge) Hiltz. She was the fifth child of a family of 14 children. She lived her entire life in the community of Fraxville, until she went to Harbour View Haven in October 12, 2012 and she was a member of St. Augustine's Anglican Church in the Forties. Leola will be remembered for her sense of humour, her hearty laugh, her love for her family and her kindness for others. She had a special place in her heart for each one of us and loved us dearly. Her interests included quilting, knitting, latch hooking and covering braided coat-hangers. She loved nature, hiking and most of all walking. She is survived by daughter Carolyn (Gary) Boutilier of Beaver Bank; son Neil (Sandi) Hiltz of the Forties; stepson Earl (Anna) Hiltz, Jr. of Ohio; grandchildren Roger (Michelle) Boutilier of Lower Sackville; Cindy Boutilier of Bedford; Kaileigh and Spencer Hiltz of the Forties; step grandchildren Donna, Clifford and Ellen; great grandchildren Victoria Boutilier of Lower Sackville; Cory, Erin, Devin Boutilier of Beaver Bank; great great grandson Hayden Boutilier; sisters Lucille Avery of Lower Sackville; Rolena Brown-Cochrane of the Forties; Lois Durling of Cambridge Station; sisters-in-law Alma and Eva Hiltz of Fraxville; brother Calvin Hiltz of the Forties; brother-in-law Laurie Powers of Berwick and many nieces and nephews. In her passing, she was reunited with her husband Earl, daughter Connie, sisters Goldie Hiltz, Phyllis Goulden, Thelma Keillor, Melba Barkhouse, Aileen Hiltz, Parnell Powers and brothers Dean, Clinton and Carl Hiltz. The family would like to thank the staff at Harbour View Haven for the wonderful care they gave our mother over the years. A job well done and very much appreciated. Visitation will take place on May 16, 2018 from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm in the New Ross Funeral Chapel. A Funeral Service will be held on May 17, 2018 at 2:00 pm in the St. Augustine's Church, 1587 Forties Road. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada, Kidney Foundation of Canada, the St. Augustine Church or charity of your choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to New Ross Funeral Chapel, 4935 Hwy #12, New Ross, B0J 2M0 (902-689-2961). Your memory is our keepsake, With which we'll never part. God has you in his keeping, We have you in our hearts.
