Obituary of Karla Marie Walsh-Parker (Durling)
The Family of Karla Marie Durling Walsh Parker, 55, of Black Rock and Kentville are saddened to report news of her passing on March 30, 2018 at Valley Regional Hospital in Kentville, Nova Scotia after a long fight with cancer.
Karla was surrounded by family, friends, and her favourite songs as she passed away peacefully. Karla was born to the late Richard Allison Durling and Dianne Esther (Frost Durling Johnstone) Edmonds in Kentville on January 21, 1963.
Karla is survived by her mother Dianne and stepfather William Edmonds of Western Shore, her sons Tyler (Katrina) Walsh of Berwick, Chantz Parker of Truro, Grandson John Wayne Walsh of Berwick, and her stepdaughters Tracy Parker of Kentville and Michelle Parker of Berwick, and step grandchild Mackenzie Jacquard, her brother Maxwell (Tammy) Durling, stepsister Donna Johnstone of Berwick, stepbrothers Ernest (Ronald) Johnstone of Seabright, Kevin Johnstone of Kentville, brother in-law Bryan Parker of Vancouver, nephew Devin Durling of Yarmouth, and niece Jenna Durling of Yarmouth.
Karla was predeceased by her husband and partner of 30+ years, Bruce Parker of Black Rock, her father Richard of North Alton, her stepfather Murray Johnstone of Waterville, and her nephew Trevor Durling of Berwick.
Karla worked at Grand View Manner in Berwick for 24 years in various roles and capacities, always quick with a joke and a smile. Karla was well known for her big heart, generosity, and her ability to talk to anyone for hours on end. Karla will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
A celebration of Karla's life will be held on Friday April 6, 2018 in the Berwick Funeral Chapel 192 Commercial Street Berwick, NS. There will be a public Visitation from 4:30 - 5:30 pm with a 6:00 service and a gathering held in the family room after the service from 6:30-7:30pm.
