It is with broken hearts we share with you our loss. Sheila Mae (Bud) Elliott, age 88, passed away on August 27, 2017 at Tideview Terrace, Digby N.S., as her daughter Lynda rubbed her arm and held her hand. Bud was born in Saint John, NB. After being adopted at age 10, Bud spent most of her life in Freeport and in later years in Central Grove both located on Long Island, NS. She is survived by her loving daughter Lynda Pyne (Rodney ), Central Grove N.S., daughter-in-law Sue, Hampton Bays N.Y., brother Don Erwin (Debbie), Hampton N.B., sister-in-law Mona Buckman, Central Grove, brother-in-law Claude Elliott (Mickey), Freeport; six grandchildren: Candy, Kelly, Larry, Christopher, Chrisdy and Kene; seven great-grandchildren: Shelby, Hayley, Connor, Fisher, Jenna, Lindsey and Lillian; one great great-granddaughter Elle; step-daughter Diane Elliott Burgess( John), New Minas N.S.; two step-grandchildren, Rachel and Branden; two step-great-grandchildren, Audrina and Bryden; and many nieces and nephews in New Brunswick. She was predeceased by parents Robert and Wilda (Cossaboom) Haines, husband Paul Elliott, infant son Robert, son Larry Haines, daughter Gail Warren, and many siblings from her biological family. Her love of family was felt by all who knew her. She loved country music, western movies, playing her Play Station 3, and laughing and acting silly with family and friends. Her courage and strength was evident as she smiled through many hardships and losses. May she dance and sing as she receives her angel wings. Family would like to thank the staff of Tideview for the kindness and care Bud received while a resident there. You will not be forgotten. A celebration of life will be held September 9, 2 PM at Central Grove Baptist Church, Rev. Rick Small officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to Tideview Terrace's cat or recreation funds. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr. (902-679-2822).
